Overview

*An expert in nonverbal communication looks at how to go from making contact to making impact in a videoconference. A deep dive into what works and what doesn’t. Entertaining. Informative. Since COVID locked most of us in our homes early last year, my clients have been clamoring for ways to improve their presence on the INTERNET. Maximize their presence on the Internet? Are you kidding? That’s like asking a mouse to roar. Look at the facts:

  1. At best, you’re a fraction of your normal size.
  2. You’re Two-Dimensional! No depth. No texture.
  3. Your voice electronically altered.
  4. We’re meeting in your home! How professional is that? It could be a den, bedroom, or breakfast nook and you want me to take you seriously? Really?

Then it hit me…To make a connection, You have to break a connection. When we sit across from each other in a conference room, you can look me in the eye. In a videoconference, you have to look into the camera to give the appearance of looking me in the eye. In other words, ‘to make a connection, you have to break a connection.’ It’s counterintuitive, but to look me in the eye, you have to look away from me and focus on the lens of a camera. That’s why we feel a dis-connect. It’s also one of the top reasons we experience zoom fatigue. We’re not getting the energy that passes from person to person when we’re live. In Guerrilla Tactics for Effective Videoconferencing, you’ll be presented with a wide array of things that will put the focus on you and enhance your ability to make impact when you’re making contact. What You’ll Get From This Program:

  • BACKGROUND: Tips for creating a background that puts the focus on YOU – what works & what doesn’t!
  • APPEARANCE: I’m a guest in your home so the rules have changed – what is appropriate and what isn’t!
  • STAGING: A look at unique problems that affect your ability to put your best foot forward – from ‘Copter Head’ to the unspoken problem that affects 71% of males above the age of 50 and almost half of the women!
  • VIDEOCONFERENCING BASICS: Whether you run the meeting or are just one of the peanuts in the Gallery – a list of Do’s and Don’ts that not only tell me you’ve been there before, but you know how to handle yourself!

Don’t you leave! When the formal part of the meeting is over, Bill is inviting you to stay on board for Q & A as well as a personal assessment of your on line set up.
